Tips for Measuring
Wallpaper Tips
1. Measure the widths of all walls to be covered. Add these together and round up to the nearest foot. To convert inches to feet, divide by 12. Add together the width of each wall
2. Measure the height of the ceiling. Round up to the nearest foot.
3. Multiply the total width by the height of the ceiling.
4. For an average double roll (1 bolt) of wallpaper, divide this total by 50 and round up to the next number. This is the number of double rolls you will need.
5. For example:
Wall one is 72 inches wide
Wall two is 96 inches wide
Wall three is only 48 inches wide.
Wall Four is 96 inches wide.
Ceiling height is 8 feet
Adding these up, we get 72 + 96 + 48 + 96 = 312 inches. 312 divided by 12 is 26.
The total width is 26 feet multiplied by 8 feet high is 208 square feet.
208 divided by 50 is 4.16. You would need 5 rolls.
6. You can also Google “wallpaper calculator” and it will do the math for you.
